Everything You Need to Know Before Buying a SUP Customs Hybrid!

Everyone, David, SUP Customs here, just putting down Actually, this is our day off, so Austin has his wife. We got our buddy Andrew. We're just fishing today. We were customers first, so this is our thing. Anyways, I wanted to give a rundown for the YouTube page for potential buyers and new customers, so you can see what you want on your board. How you want to build it, all the configurations. Probably if you're a new customer, we probably already discussed all that. So, calling is the best way to go cuz people Some people see our setups, think you got to build that when you can build something around a kayak price range, higher end kayak price range.

So, and then you can build as you go. So, let's check this out. Austin and I are going to also follow each other all day. Kind of show you how we use the boards, why we need some of the gear, why some of the gear is worth the investment, you can wait on the other stuff. So, when you get the LIVE board from us, three things you'll need. Definitely do the bottom coating. That's people's number one regret. It is fiberglass. That's why we love it. We like the catamaran hull from LIVE that we can get the performance stability with the suction pocket.

And we like the fiberglass build that you can bottom coat, you can repair easily. It's light. It's 65 lb. The L2 is 55 lb. We love all that about it. So, we can really, really customize it with the 12 tracks and and the marine deck and and all of that type of thing. So, three things, bottom coating. If you are a bass fisherman, more of a kayak tournament fisherman, this is the front plate. This is an old prototype plate. You got an aluminum front plate. And then if you're going to motorize like we do with power, you're going to need the back motor mount.

If you're a bass fisherman, you can get two flat plates that do tournaments. One flat plate for the front for your trolling motor, the other flat plate for the back to hold more gear, to hold a Newport or ePropulsion. Any any electric motor will work. Or the Power-Pole, just have the Power-Pole in the back of that flat one. But in this situation, we have the front plate holding the trolling motor. And we got the Power-Pole here in the middle, and this one is holding the new ePropulsion Spirit 2. And Liv, Austin's wife, is running that.

We've been more than impressed with it. But we are going about 10 to 12 mile round trip today, and we'll we'll see what it can handle. Cooler-wise, we really recommend Engel. We love Arctic. We like the anything that's 25 in to 29 in. If you need less elevation to be less top-heavy, you can go with a smaller cooler like that, the 45 over there. I have an 85, Austin has a 65 and a 65. Paddle holders here on the tracks. Fishing rod holders there. Battery-wise, we sell a little 19 lb tiny little battery, 120 amp that we sell.

Today, we're running Dakota batteries on them. Speaker-wise, Eco Turtlebox, they all work. Slap them on, nothing slides around, but you can strap all of your accessories down. Bags that we do, anything waterproof. That's what we love about these is the deck is sealed, water's not filling it up. But also, everything we put on this is waterproof, and that that's kind of by design. So, bags, this is a Hella Dry Bag, the duckweed pattern. Coolers obviously will float, speakers, batteries, you're you're good to go. On here, we have a Suzuki 6 on all of them.

We sell recommend Mercury to Tohatsu for several reasons, and you can talk to me about that. Gas, you can run an external I'll in on So, if you're 250 275 lbs, you don't want to deal with working in the back of a kayak paddle board setup, just run your external tank, call it a day. This isn't an internal day for all of us here, it looks like. So, we just all have different gas cans that we prefer. We fill it up. You get about 4 mi to a tank. Scenture rod up extension handles. You really do want to sit up, get that bow down.

What I love about these setups, unlike a kayak, is you can trim it like a boat. That's the skiff portion of it. That's really cool of the hybrid. Go back, get the bow up, go go forward, get stern up, you know, all that type of stuff. Run skinny, get the bow down. Got some chop coming, scoot back, get the bow up, and that's incredible. What else? I think that's about it. Trolling motors. Here's a product transom mount. You got to buy this little adapter. This is the AutoBoat. The Haswing will work, too. If you want to be an inexpensive trolling motors, here is We sell them Minn Kota, Terrova, fresh and salt water.

But, our front plates have every hole for every trolling motor on the market. So, if you want the Rhodans, which they don't do 12-V and 36 anymore, but MotorGuide's out of business these, but any You want to go on the marketplace, find them, any any trolling motor will work. What else? Anything else? Paddles? Pretty self-explanatory. Micro poles and the spike. Hit a button, is it worth a thousand dollars? So, hit a button, they go down, you're stalking fish, you don't have time to pull out a manual spike and and do all of that. The fish are gone, you made noise. So, I don't know.
